St Johnstone striker Scott Dobie will miss the club's pre-season trip to Northern Ireland after suffering a groin strain. The summer signing from Carlisle will stay in Perth for treatment on the injury, which he picked up during victory at Arbroath on Wednesday. Saints manager Derek McInnes told the club's official website: "It's a bit of a frustration for Scott but we said we wouldn't take anyone across there who couldn't play a part. "It's all about fitness and with the initial diagnosis indicating an absence of around 10 days I felt Scott was better placed staying home and working with the physio. "He just over-stretched a bit at Gayfield but hopefully he can feature in the home matches we have coming up." St Johnstone face Lisburn Distillery on Tuesday and Dungannon Swifts two days later, with midfielder Jody Morris hoping to return from hernia surgery in the second match.
