Billy Stark’s
post match comments were in the Sunday Mail today."I am desperately disappointed as this was a game we expected to win. To now have lost three games out of six is not on. We didn’t threaten enough up front and we’re losing bad goals. The squad aren’t doing themselves justice and I’ll have to freshen things up for Tuesday. There’s no doubt about that.
He was realistic about the discontent felt amongst the home support;
"I will not have a go at the fans as what they are seeing is not good enough - they know that and are entitled to expect better.
Yesterday, saw early leaders Ross County and Clyde falter against Ayr and Falkirk. So mathematically, Saints fall one point further behind. They are now 7th in the league which is totally unacceptable. I am sure, that yesterday’s performance had many reconsidering their Saturday afternoon activities. I for one, questioned what I was doing there.
Saints have five days in which to resurrect their season. Hamilton will serve as the perfect chance for Stark and his eleven to try again before the first of the Falkirk show downs. Yet, already this has become the theme of my entries, that Saints "have another chance to put things right." As it stands, this team is a long way off being considered as a title winning side. Why is it that even against teams of a considerably lower budget Saints look second rate?
For Tuesday night expect a real shake up of the tactical and selection formula. It certainly can not stoop much lower than yesterday.
